Is it just me

or does todays music all sound pretty much the same?

I feel dissatisfied with a lot of the music that is around at the moment. What happened to lyrics that mean something? To sounds that are sounds and not just a messy colobration of noise? What happened to the lyrics you can lose yourself in completely?

I miss the days when music was appreciated rather than given to anyone and everyone to do with as they wish and abuse in their own 'new arty' way.

Bring us back talent.
Bring us back lyrics.
Bring us back music.

You are looking in the wrong place then. And anyway! You don't like any of the music I play you, and I am all about either good beats or good lyrics.

And... Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip have just released a new album. Their last one is amazing. Listen to the one I put in my post before, "Waiting for the beat to kick in".

Join the club, "popular" music is a joke. It's a saturated genre that preys on those willing to conform and the need to be "famous" and "rich" over talented.

I see it more as just easy listening. Like watching films like American Pie and Bubble Boy.

It doesn't hurt if you don't want to listen to it, and I don't really think it pushes out other good music.
